Botswana 'survival' September 2002 |
Rose (Ger) and Henk |
Who are Henk & Ger. You should
ask yourself this question after reading these traveling stories. Who would
leave quiet and peaceful Holland to the dangerous outside world?
Why should someone join sixteen other people, of which only four speak dutch, and one 'Afrikaans'? |

Well, Ger & Henk are just two
standard Europeans in there late thirties (well Henk: at least you were
last year). Just dutchmen who will put strange specs on there nose
if someone asks them to.
They publish these pictures on the internet because they don't want to show real nice pictures of themselves (These pictures do exist, but are censored by the site committee....). |
This is Henk & Ger in standard tourist uniform. Unshaved (at least Henk is) near a border post in northern Botswana. When you look carefully you see them wearing the typical dutch hip-belts (the right word for 'heuptasje' doesn't even exist in English....). Look them smiling after four days in the bush. They just had a giant icecream! |

Here is a picture of Ger, one week after coming home again. As you should know by now (or not), we called Ger 'Rose'. Our Anglo-Saxon friends couldn't pronounce the 'G' (well, they tried, but the sound resembled a black mamba). To spare them the embarrasment, and because Ger thought it would be nice to be called something else (side effect of midlife crisis) we introduced the name 'Rose'. As you can see the resemblance is
perfect, so extra service to our traveling 'friends'.

PS. Everything mentioned above is
absolutely true, honest!
